THE MIGHTY KTM X-BOW GT2 will return to the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour this year, with Vantage KTM Racing confirming their entry for a fourth attempt at a result with the Austrian-built GT car.

Car and team owner David Crampton will again be joined by long-time copilot Trent Harrison, while Glen Wood will return to the team fresh from a competitive campaign in Carrera Cup this year.

The car will again compete in the Invitational class alongside IRC GT, MARC Cars and other invited cars entered in the race.

The five-cylinder turbocharged KTM has proved a popular addition to the 12-Hour grid since it’s 2022 debut, even if results have been challenging to secure across the last three years.

With Crampton, Harrison, Dale and Glen Wood sharing the driving, the car qualified 12th on debut in 2022, before an accident ruled them out after just 38 laps of the race.

The 2023 event proved even more challenging when an engine failure early in the weekend saw them forced to switch cars to a borrowed Audi R8 LMS, Crampton, Harrison, Wood and Jayden Ojeda finishing 15th outright and third in the Silver class in a remarkable turnaround.

Crampton and Harrison then returned to the KTM in 2024, factory KTM pilot Laura Kraihamer joining the duo.

Unfortunately, a crash in practice six on Saturday proved too significant to recover from, forcing them out of the event prior to qualifying.

Sydney-based GWR Australia will again prepare the KTM for Crampton’s team.

Practice gets underway for the 2025 event on Friday, 31 January next year with tickets, camping and corporate experiences all still available to purchase.
