SUNDAY was a day to remember for the van der Linde family, with brothers Kelvin and Sheldon combining to win the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.

Kelvin took the chequered flag on Sunday to win Team WRT’s first 12 Hour since 2018, and the first for BMW in the event’s GT3 era.

Both van der Linde brothers and Augusto Farfus claimed their first Bathurst 12 Hour victories, with the win creating a new slice of history.

Kelvin and younger brother Sheldon became only the second-ever brother pairing to have won a major enduro at Mount Panorama in the same car.

David and Geoff Brabham claimed victory in the 1997 Bathurst 1000 Super Touring race at the wheel of a factory-backed BMW 320i.

Brothers have often partnered up at the Mountain, yet only the Brabhams and van der Lindes can lay claim to securing a victory.

Notably, Todd and Rick Kelly finished second in the 2006 Bathurst 1000, while identical twins Neal and Rick Bates made three Great Race starts together.

Peter and Phil Brock teamed up to finish third in the 1976 Bathurst 1000, while Ian and Leo Geoghegan teamed up six times between 1963 and 1969.

Sunday’s win continued WRT’s undefeated start to 2025, following its overall victories in the Michelin 24H Dubai and 6H Abu Dhabi last month.
